These Terms of Service govern your use of iTEPay. Please read them carefully before creating an account or making a transaction.
By creating an account or using any part of iTEPay, you're agreeing to the terms on this page — so we've tried to make them worth actually reading.
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") form a binding agreement between you and iTEPay ("we", "us", or "iTEPay") governing your access to and use of itepay.com.ng, the iTEPay mobile app, our agent tools, our API platform, and every feature we offer through them, including our cryptocurrency-to-Naira service (together, the "Service").
By creating an account, clicking "I agree," or using the Service in any way, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not create an account or use the Service.
The principles behind how we've written this agreement
We explain what each clause means for you, not just what protects us.
We expect good-faith use of the Service, and we commit to fair, transparent treatment in return.
Where a service — like our cryptocurrency infrastructure partner — is provided by someone else, we say so clearly.
Our obligations under Nigerian financial regulation shape how transactions are verified, monitored, and — where necessary — restricted.
Fees, updates, and material changes to these Terms are disclosed before they apply to you.
Anything that limits your rights or our liability is written out clearly, not hidden in dense legalese.
These Terms apply to itepay.com.ng, the iTEPay mobile app, our agent tools, and our API platform (together, the "Service"), and to every individual customer, registered agent, and business that accesses the Service. By registering for an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms, as they may be updated from time to time in accordance with Section 14.
If you are using the Service on behalf of a business or other entity, you confirm that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms, and "you" refers to both you and that entity.
To use the Service, you must:
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials, PIN, and any device or account used to access the Service, and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
iTEPay provides a platform for digital payments and automated utility transactions, including but not limited to airtime, mobile data, electricity, cable TV, and other billers, as well as agent tools and an API platform for businesses that wish to integrate with iTEPay. We also offer a cryptocurrency-to-Naira service, described in Section 4.
We may add, modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the Service at any time, and we will use reasonable efforts to notify you of material changes that affect you directly.
iTEPay offers a cryptocurrency-to-Naira service that allows eligible users to sell supported cryptocurrency through the iTEPay platform and receive the corresponding value in Nigerian Naira (the "Cryptocurrency Services"). iTEPay integrates with Quidax, our third-party cryptocurrency infrastructure and API service provider, which processes the underlying cryptocurrency side of a transaction.
iTEPay does not directly custody, hold, store, or control users' cryptocurrency assets. Cryptocurrency assets and related transaction processing are handled through Quidax's infrastructure, in accordance with the applicable terms, policies, security procedures, and regulatory requirements governing Quidax's services. Quidax is an independent third-party service provider and is not a department, agent, or employee of iTEPay. Where you use the Cryptocurrency Services, you may also be subject to Quidax's own terms of service, which you should review separately.
Nature of cryptocurrency and risk. Cryptocurrency values can be highly volatile, and the value of any cryptocurrency you sell through the Cryptocurrency Services may change between the time you initiate a transaction and the time it settles. Blockchain transactions are generally irreversible once confirmed on the relevant network. You acknowledge and accept these risks when you use the Cryptocurrency Services.
Verification, monitoring, and restrictions. Transactions carried out through the Cryptocurrency Services may be subject to identity verification, KYC, AML/CTF checks, fraud prevention, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, regulatory reporting, and legal or law-enforcement requests. iTEPay may delay, reject, suspend, or restrict a cryptocurrency transaction where reasonably necessary for security, compliance, fraud-prevention, regulatory, or legal reasons.
Service dependency. The availability of the Cryptocurrency Services depends in part on Quidax and other relevant third-party infrastructure, and may be affected by technical outages, scheduled maintenance, network conditions, security incidents, regulatory requirements, third-party service interruptions, blockchain or network issues, and other circumstances outside iTEPay's direct control. Except as required by applicable law, iTEPay is not responsible for the acts, omissions, or service interruptions of Quidax or other third-party infrastructure providers. See our Privacy Policy for how information is shared with Quidax in connection with the Cryptocurrency Services.
Some features of the Service, including certain transactions and the Cryptocurrency Services, may carry a fee or be subject to a rate or spread. Where applicable, the fee or rate will be disclosed to you before you confirm a transaction, and by confirming the transaction you agree to the fee or rate shown at that time. We do not charge hidden fees not disclosed prior to confirmation.
When using the Service, you agree that you will not:
We reserve the right to investigate suspected violations of this section and to take appropriate action, including those described in Section 8.
You are responsible for reviewing transaction details — such as phone numbers, meter numbers, biller information, and cryptocurrency amounts — before confirming a transaction. Once a transaction has been processed, it generally cannot be reversed, particularly where the transaction has already been sent to a biller, network partner, or, for cryptocurrency transactions, confirmed on the relevant blockchain network.
If you believe a transaction was processed in error, contact us promptly using the details in Section 14. We will investigate in good faith, but we cannot guarantee a refund or reversal where the underlying transaction has already been completed by a third party.
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the Service, or any part of it, where we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, where required by law or regulation, for security or fraud-prevention reasons, or where necessary to comply with AML/CTF, sanctions-screening, or other regulatory obligations. Where practical, we will notify you of the reason for such action.
You may close your account at any time by contacting us. Closing your account does not affect obligations that arose before closure, or our right to retain information as described in our Privacy Policy.
The Service, including its software, design, logos, and content, is owned by iTEPay or our licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service except as expressly permitted by us.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." While we work to keep the Service accurate, secure, and reliable, we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of security vulnerabilities, and we make no warranty regarding cryptocurrency prices, rates, or the performance of third-party infrastructure such as Quidax.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, iTEPay will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including losses relating to cryptocurrency price volatility, third-party service interruptions, or unauthorized access to your account resulting from your own failure to safeguard your credentials. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
You agree to indemnify and hold iTEPay, its officers, employees, and agents harmless from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.
The Service may rely on or link to third-party services, including billers, network partners, and our cryptocurrency infrastructure partner, Quidax. These third parties operate under their own terms and privacy policies, which we encourage you to review. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of third-party services, except as required by applicable law.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If a dispute arises out of or relates to these Terms or the Service, we encourage you to first contact our support team using the details in Section 14 so we can try to resolve it directly. Where a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Nigeria, without prejudice to any right you may have to bring a complaint before a relevant regulator, including the Nigeria Data Protection Commission for data-related matters.
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our Service, our practices, or applicable law. Material changes will be highlighted on this page, and the "Last Updated" badge at the top will always reflect the most recent version. Continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
If you have questions about these Terms, our support team is available around the clock.
